GENERAL INFORMATION

The Recorder Society of Connecticut was founded by Elise Jaeger and Helen Hermes. Its first official meeting was in January, 1989. more..

Our programs are coordinated by Susan Iadone, our Music Director. Susan maintains a busy career teaching and performing on viola, viola da gamba and recorder, and has an extensive discography.  She is beginning her 26th year as recorder instructor at Saint David's School in New York City .

Session coaches also include Karen Snowberg, Music Director of the Westchester Recorder Guild and a sought after performer on cornetto and recorder. We continue to attract exciting and distinguished guest conductors, including Susan Thompson, Larry Lipnik, Larry Zukof, Bruce Larkin, Susan Hellauer and other inspiring music instructors in the region.

Music is provided at each meeting. some experience reading music and playing at least one of the recorder voices (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) is necessary to participate. Most members are able to play all four voices.

MEMBERSHIP & PARTICIPATION FEES

The annual RSC membership fee is $50. Monthly participation fee is $15, payable by all attendees. Prepayment of $125 covers membership and participation fees for the year.

Newcomers may try one session for $15 without paying the membership fee. Members of other ARS chapters are welcome to attend any time for the $15 session fee.
